Fix for Python 3.6 and earlier versions
Apparently dispy doesn't work with Python 3.6 and earlier versions due to changes in pycos-4.9.0 (around September 2020). This is now fixed in github. I am hoping to release next version of pycos in a few days (may be sooner). If in the meantime you need to get dispy working with Python 3.6, get current pycos source and follow installation instructions.

pycos version 4.12.0 fixes this issue.
